Because childhood is an important time to build a foundation of faith, we offer each child Bible study, crafts, games, prayer, and opportunities to learn and grow together.
Barefoot Youth & Young Adult Ministries
Barefoot Ministries exists to reach teens with the gospel, help them grow as disciples, and teach them that they have the power to transform the world. Our regular meetings and worship, along with leadership and volunteer opportunities encourage youth to serve God through serving others.
Details for Parents
Sundays for Children
Grades K-2 in Room 102 / Grades 3-5 in Room 103. Elementary-age children may participate in these programs or stay with their parents for the service. Parents should pick up their children no later than 5 minutes after the service ends.
9:30-10:30am: Sunday School
Children begin in worship with their families for the first two songs and any special moments or performances. They are then invited to follow the adult leaders out the east door.
11am-12pm: Children’s Church
Parents may drop their children off at any time after 10:40am to participate in grade-appropriate Bible study, crafts, and games during the Late Traditional Service.
Infant & Toddler Care
Room 100. Parents may drop their children off up to 20 minutes before the service and are asked to pick up their children no later than 5 minutes after the service ends. Parents of infants are asked to leave essential supplies. For safety reasons, the adult who drops the child off needs to be the same adult who picks them up.
Child Safety PoliciesPickup/Dropoff
To ensure the safety of each child, we require parents to escort their children to and from their classrooms. For nursery-age children, we require the adult to sign the child in and out of the classroom, and require that the adult who drops the child off be the same adult who picks them up.
Volunteer Screening
Each of our staff members and volunteers is thoroughly background checked before being permitted to interact with children. Each of our staff receives first-aid and emergency training.
Emergency Response
Illness: To protect the other children in our care, we ask that you not bring your child to Footprints activities if they are sick. If your child becomes ill, we will contact you as soon as we can in person or by phone. If the child is vomiting or has a fever, we will separate them from the other children until the parent arrives. Our children’s wing is entirely peanut- and nut-free.
Injury: Every member of our child care staff and many of our volunteers are CPR, AED and first-aid trained. Our facilities are equipped with AED devices and first-aid kits. In emergency situations, we will call 911 before attempting to contact a parent.
Fire/Tornado Drills: In case of a fire, children will be taken either to the church sign by Fifth Avenue or to the sidewalk beside the playground. In the event of a tornado warning, children will sit along the wall farthest from windows in each classroom. If time allows, they will be moved to room 101 as it is the most sheltered.
Dangerous Persons or Lockdown: The children will sit in the closets or adjacent bathrooms in their classroom.
