Observation:
Why on earth would people ask Jesus to leave their region? The answer is that some people have a lot to lose when Jesus brings healing and deliverance. Those who willfully profit off of sin, disobedience, and injustice have everything on earth to lose.
Application:
I want to ask Jesus to heal and deliver, even when the change that comes means sacrificing what is comfortable and easy.
Prayer:
Dear Jesus, depart not from our presence. Abide with us as we seek to abide in you. Helps us to accept difficult changes for the sake of your kingdom that the least, last, and lost (like the demonic) and even I (when I am truly honest with myself) may find healing and redemption. In your name we pray. Amen.
