Scripture Verse: v. 2 “and [Jesus] began to teach them.”
Observation: In “The Sermon on the Mount” (Matthew Chp. 5 – 7), Jesus shares some of his core teachings on witness (Salt and Light), forgiveness, blessing (The Beatitudes), and loving others. Jesus as a teacher challenges us to live for God in the way of selfless love.
Application: If Jesus teaches, am I learning? How can I be a doer of the Word?
Prayer: Dear Lord and Master, thank you for instructing us in the way that leads to life. May we become doers of your Word as Salt and Light to the world. Amen.
