Dear First United Methodist Church of Mt. Dora, Florida,
I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to bid farewell for 3-months as I prepare to embark on a mobilization, starting tomorrow, as a National Guard chaplain to McAllen, TX.
I hope my role as a chaplain will provide comfort, guidance, and strength to Soldiers serving in McAllen. I will miss you all and thank you for praying for me while I am away. I also know you will support Pastor Donna as your interim pastor, and you will support each other.
This weekend you have an opportunity to support two key events:
1.) Back to School Bash, Saturday, July 27th, 11 am to 1 pm
2.) Myra Johnson Piano Concert for Missions, Sunday, July 28th, 3 pm
I will write to you weekly and offer frequent updates in Tuesday Tidings.
Grace and Peace,
David Averill
